Rajesh Bothra is one of the most successful businessman from India that gained success trying his luck in the computer business and becoming CEO of Kobian a company based in Singapore. His advise to all who want to succeed in business is that only people who are not scared to grab new opportunities and who want more than life is offering, are those who can achieve success. To become such person one should be strong and willing to confront all kinds of problems and challenges that may arise on his way to success.

 

Rajesh Bothra is daring man who thanks to his special business skills and understanding of what is important for successful business, managed to quickly become CEO of Kobian and with that and his brand Mercury he placed his company on top of IT industry and his name became recognizable worldwide. He became the pride of India offering his brand not only in India but across the world, from Nigeria, USA, Pakistan, UAE, Turkey, Iran, Holland, Lebanon, Austria, Hong Kong and Canada. Kobian headquarters is in Singapore and from there they are operating their business around the globe. So far this company doesn't have competition because of their approach to business and a huge palette of products are made in their factories.

Rajesh Bothra was born in Mumbai 1968 as a Marwari family member. His family is originally from village Rajaldesar which is located in Churu district in Rajasthan. He stopped his studies when he was 16 after graduated because he was disappointed with options educated people have in India. He was demotivated seeing many educated people working low paid jobs not being able to show their knowledge. That is why he decided to stop education and turn to business. These days he says it was a huge mistake because education matters in business and his plans are to continue his studies soon giving good example to his kids and preventing them to make same mistake as their father.

He started his career in the computer business with a small amount of Rs. 7,000 which he got from his mother as a good luck gift. His family financial situation was excellent and he was able to easily live without worries, but he wanted to try something on his own and to succeed making his parents proud. He began his own business as 18 years old and after 4 year his earnings were R. 25,000 a day. He dreamed about continuing family business and making it grow but he realized in India that is difficult because of problems business people there meeting almost every day.

His business required often travelling to Hong Kong and Singapore and after some time he realized that Singapore is a much better place to do business than Mumbai and India. He decided to marry 1991 and then one more decision waited for him and that was to choose where to start his business. Choosing from three places, Hong Kong, Dubai and Singapore, he decided to move to Singapore because he found life style and culture much closer to life in India and also better he found this place as a good base for his business activities.

When he reached in Singapore Kobian was already well know business with turn over that was around half a million S$ and the owner was Mr. Nikhil Shah. Within a year, 1992 Rajesh became his business partner and they decded to expand business together becoming equal partners. This company quickly grown and today turn over of this company is over 300 million S$.

This company has three factories in India which are based in Himachal Pradesh and Silvasa, and in those factories is employed over 800 people. The company has one more such factory in China and plan is to make new factory in Eastern Europe, preferably Poland or Czechoslovakia. Factories produce motherboards, DVD player, VCD players, power supplies, monitors, keyboards, notebooks and so much more under brand name Mercury. These products are distributed all over the world from India, South America, North America, Middle East and Europe. The company doesn't have competition because they create at least one new product every week and with a palette of 160 products and more that 300 different models they became one of top IT companies. There is no such company that can compete with such a range of products as Kobian has.

Kobian has offices in 12 countries at the moment and they sell their products all over the world. In India products are sold directly to distributors while in Middle East products are sold to a number of dealers. In case of sale in North America products are not sold to dealers or distributors but directly to merchants such are Wallmart and BestBuy. Kobian is ranked as 5th company out of more than 80 companies such are HP, IBM, Compaq and Intel. This rank came as a result of more than 1,200 feedbacks to which company is trustworthy.

Rajesh's biggest encouragement were his parents who supported his wish to try something new and go over the borders of family business. His father Shri Dungarmal died 11 and his mother 4 years later. After losing them his biggest support was his wife Rashmi in all fields of life, from home to business. Rajesh is a father of two, son Harsha who is 13 years old student and daughter Divya who is 10 and attending school. Rajesh is very much attached to Indian culture and lifestyle and supporting people whenever possible. Percent of his annual profit goes to help poor people all over the country and main field of his charity work is providing food. His plan related to charity is to supply people with food in over 20 cities in India, which will feed over 20,000 people. Beside that he is trying to expand charity work to other places where food is needed, like in Cambodia and Africa.
